Helpful Posts: Trying to photograph pewter proved to be more of a challenge than I had expected. The image looks better with the hot spots than without.
The shaving soap comes from a small traditional soap maker located in the Province of Quebec's Eastern Township area; hence the French on the label. Chevrefeulle translates as honeysuckle.

No problems with the lighting at all. I used two small reflectors with 30 degree grids to cross light the scene, so the noticeable shadows are meant to be there. With metal, there are always going to be reflections, unless they are retouched out.
