This is absolutely gorgeous! It not only is a great wildlife photo but it screams SPRING! I can hear the rain and smell the grass - like I'm out there with them. (Sorry that I don't know what to say technically, though. )
Awww. It's a beautiful picture. I wish you had a different angle so we could see the fawn's head, but I know (well) that this is not always possible. A lovely spring image.
That's a masterful image, Steve.
I take on Elise's point that it would have been great to have got at least some of the fawn's head, but we do see its muzzle at work....!
Just wonderfully constructed: The right amount of foreground grass; Animals in perfect proportion to the size of the image; Animals perfectly positioned in the frame; Expertly exposed; Shutter speed perfect to give us the sense of the heavy rain falling.
Just lifts you up to see an image of such quality.

Very nice. Captures the look on mom's face: "What I put up with for you kids..."
Oh I see it now -- maybe in a larger version I would have seen that right off. Still would have been nice to have the eyes, though, in a great image --I take on Elise's point that it would have been great to have got at least some of the fawn's head, but we do see its muzzle at work....!
very glad you found them both! - each has a lovely story shown perfectly by your technique.
Very nice. The depth of field is great.
Dear Steve, Great shot. That fawn is in extacy as shown by the extended left leg. Screams maternal love. Show us more if you have any.
