Great images; but first and the last images are not showing; may be due to a slow network....
Everything showing for me and looking good.
Sometimes, a grey day can actually work well because it avoids those over exposure hot spots caused by brilliant sunshine; providing you can get sufficient shutter speed.
Not for me, Geoff.

Agreed, especially if the camera tends to less contrast in the highlights by which I mean that some if not many cameras do a non-linear S-shaped conversion to RGB. See DPR reviews of dynamic range for examples, e.g.Sometimes, a grey day can actually work well because it avoids those over exposure hot spots caused by brilliant sunshine; providing you can get sufficient shutter speed.

Ted and Nandakumar: I put the images into a flickr album that you can see here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/billtils/67H050
Bill
Bill, I've been able to see all four. They are all very good. My favourite is the second one, I think because of the angle of the kite's head. The eye is in clear view and seems to be firmly focussed on something -- perhaps the next meal!
As Geoff commented, the greyish sky made a good backdrop for the kite shots.
Pictures of Red Kite are wonderful, first one is really great.
Thanks for your work on this Ted. I have a photo-buddy who is a retired senior software engineer and always takes great delight in telling me that 99% of "failures" are due to operator error but in this case I'm with you. The oddity is that there is cleary a problem somewhere but not everywhere.
Cheers
Bill
Thanks for your comments David, Bruce, Geoff and Nandakumar (and Ted!).
A bit of variety in the favourite choice - mine would have been the second because of the angle of the head but sadly the shot in the burst that was best for that did not pick up the classic 'V' red kite tail. Maybe next time ...
Thank you Bill, they are truly awesome!!!
Nice series Bill, with Red Kite 2 being my favourite !!
Rudi.
Excellent work
