Every time I go to NIK I get the (increasingly) annoying "do you want to upgrade" message and I'd like to be sure before replying "Yes please".
Donald's problem seems to be at least in part related to his use of a Wacom tablet while mine was related to how the U-Point controls were (or in my case were not) working. I use a Wacom tablet as well, but I suspect we are likely not using the same model, so this could be a DxO / Wacom driver incompatibility issue in Donald's case.
Re: NIK Collection 4 - UPGRADE ?
Thanks for the clarification Manfred and Donald. Wacom and (to a lesser extent) U-point compatabiity are important to me, but I suspect Donald is using a model several leagues above mine (Manfred too) so I'll take a chance and upgrade later today.

Re: NIK Collection 4 - UPGRADE ?
After the information from Donald and Manfred I decided to go ahead with the V4 upgrade. Not a happy experience - the download wouldn't open. I deleted it and re-installed V3 - all good. Went back and tried again with V4 - same result.
Awaiting a reply from DxO ... 24 hours and counting.

When asked for feedback, that was one of the areas that I faulted DxO on. If nothing else, let us know how long it will take to get a response from the support staff. I think I waited for close to a week.
This is not acceptable, in my view.

Will do, and agree.
Re: NIK Collection 4 - UPGRADE ?
It seems to me that the most prudent course of action is not to update for now, unless you have a pressing need for one of the new features. Presumably, they'll get this worked out at some point in the future. But then again, that's easy for me to say because I use Nik relatively little, and version 3 is fine for me.

This short thread gives another view into DxO's woes with NIK4:

That's a month now.
I'm not waiting any longer - the previous release does all I want so I'm voting with my feet.

That’s my decision as well. I remain open to an upgrade when one offers more and is stable and relatively bug free.
