It doesn't seem like this gadget does anything above what a modern mirrorless camera can do on its own but, if it were not so expensive, it might be fun to play with. However, I think even though I am a gadgeteer, I will pass on this one...

If you think about it, this product is attempted to bring functionality found on our smartphones to interchangeable lens cameras.

The novice will probably end up with superior images but the more advanced photographer will have little or no use for a computer making creative decisions for them.

I completely agree. I'd go further. Not only would I not find it useful; I would find it aversive. It removes the importance of knowledge, vision, and creativitiy. Those are what make photography enjoyable and what makes my images my own.

This reminds me of a tongue-in-cheek suggestion a techie friend of mine made years ago, when he was dipping his toes into travel photography. He suggested a device that you could use whenever you reach a place you think is worth photographihng--which is very likely to be a place that a great many people have already photographed. the device would take a GPS reading and then provide a menu of extant photos taken at that precise spot, letting you choose the one you want. He said that would get most people better photos than they can create themselves.

During the "Dark Ages" when I was working towards an undergraduate degree in history, one of my professors stated his philosophy about travel photography (which I considered repugnant). He said, "I never take a camera, instead, I buy post cards!"

In the case of many photographer, that might be an appropriate solution, given the quality of images one often sees on social media.

I had someone once make a similar comment to me and I responded by telling them my photographs are far better than the ones used for postcards. That shut them up quite quickly.
