    Splendid image and definitely different.

Long ago, when I was interested in impermanence and related Zen-like stuff, I wrote:

    the bubble ...
    colours shimmering ...
    pop!!

So much nicer than " life sucks ... then you die"

Thanks, Ted. Had mixed feelings about this image.

The little girl in her awkward stance is oblivious to the bubble above her. Like the bubble, her awkwardness will in time disappear.

You have a good concept here, Daniel. A bit more work in post would strengthen this image considerably. While the girl and bubble are important, the white stripes and red bricks are really important to the overall image as well.

It is too back that the bubble is not a bit closer to the girl as the visual connection between the two is not as strong as it could have been.

Hi Manfred, I had thought about the connection looking at the bubble would have achieved. I think it would have made the image straightforward and easier to view. There is no connection between the two, only a relationship. Sometimes that can be more interesting.
My first attempt at processing did not go well. I will have to try again.

It seems like only yesterday she was an awkward little girl.

In view of the relationship, placing the girl inside the bubble occurred to me.

Carefully said, I'm not sure you quite got where I was coming from. When I look at the idea of two key elements in an image needed to be "connected", what I am looking for them to be visually tied together, probably by proximity to each other. When significant compositional elements are not connected, the viewer is left to deal with two separate entities that vie for attention.

If the bubble were a bit lower down and were over the white line below it, the girl and bubble would be visually tied together by the same line and the composition would be more effective.

That would have been an awesome image, I think.

Manfred, After I posted I reread your post and realized I hadn't read it correctly. Your follow-up clarified it even more I was very uncertain about the photo. I did not consider proximity tying them together. That would have made a difference.

I do have a shot of her with just her head in the bubble.

Bo or Barbara - I'll answer to both!

    Re: Impermanency

If you had the pixels to severely crop the image showing the girl with her head ‘inside’ the bubble ( 646) in portrait mode then I believe you have the pick of the 3 images.
The colours of the bubble marry up with her skirt, leggings and shoes and the awkward pose is now explained!

Hi Bo, I have the cropped version of her in a bubble on flicker. Will take another look at it. Thank you for looking and commenting. Daniel
