Blue Heron

The bird was standing on a table in my neighbor's yard. I think it was too young to fly. This is the second year they have nested in my neighbor tree.

Certainly looks like a rather young bird which has left the nest a bit too early. Are the parents still feeding it?

My neighbor was told by an animal control agency that it's normal for parents to drop them to the ground. Sort of let them be on their own for a while. Parents should continue to feed it. She was told if it starts to look weak or not fed to call them back. It is very cute. You can walk up close and it just stands there.

Seen the little gu out for a walk this morning. He has grown a bit in one week. Flaps his wings but still can't leave the ground. I'm told he is a Great Blue Heron.
