This is a nice image, but perhaps a bit too busy for my taste. The main issue I have with it is the hard light. If you had taken this shot at Golden Hour, it would be a lot more effective.

I suppose a slight crop from the top and right side would condense the scene a bit and help to reduce some of Manfred's concerns.

Maybe a mix of crop and slight cloning to remove the right side tree?

Thanks Manfred. I agree. But I was only there for an hour, just enough time to get some Lake Erie perch and chips , snap 2 shots and leave. Is there some way I can add the ambience of the golden hour to this shot? A golden hour filter or something like that?

Thanks Geoff. I did crop a lot from the right initially. But decided to keep the tree as it formed some framing combined with the tree on the left. I am thinking of removing the group from the left, but will give it a shot later today.

The beauty of Golden Hour are the soft shadows from the nice, diffuse light from the setting sun. Warming filters can add that warm colour to the image, but they do nothing for the hard mid-day light. You have to be out in Golden Hour to take advantage of the light quality.
