Magpie meets Parakeet

We have some new arrivals in the garden. A small flock of Ring-Necked Parakeets. This encounter tonight with a resident magpie resulted in a so-so picture with regards to noise and sharpness. So I decided to b+w the image, not sharpen it, and actually increase the noise.

Let me know if you think it works.

It works for me Peter. I'm not sure which species I would prefer in my garden though.
I personally cannot abide Magpies having seen how they terrorise and predate other smaller bird species in our garden. I know it's nature but it isn't pleasant to see.
Despite my dislike of them in the right light the magpie plumage is amazing.

I like it. Great capture. It worked for me, but then I saw the second shot of the scene in Flicker which you processed differently. Not sure which I like better.

I agree. The magpie's feet and head are clearly visible in thensecond image.
