I love it, Manfred. It's the kind of photo that makes you smile.
I love this, a fun shot. Look forward to seeing where you go with this one.
I too wonder where you could go with this one Manfred. But my first thought was how was this created. I'm familiar with the brand of crayons but not a brush handle from that brand.

Original, intriguing. I like the slight non-alignment of the crayons - makes it believable.
This is the cheap Chinese knockoff...
The magic of Photoshop, Peter. In the original I lifted the lettering off the black crayon and placed it there and got the wood-burned look using the Soft Light blending mode.
After seeing your question, I did a bit of checking on the internet and found that Crayola uses a font called Omnes Bold for a lot of their branding and it is one of the fonts I have access to with my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, which is how the "cheap Chinese knockoff" was created...
I can thank the crayon manufacturer for that. Crayons are not a precision product and some of the misalignment on the way the wrappers are applied come from that. I also rotated the purple crayon a bit when I photographed the set to add a bit more misalignment. A bit of imperfection, as you point out, makes the whole thing more believable.
