Six composited images went into this shot. The challenge was to minimize the refraction of light from the support structure. Some 50 shots were taken to get the water drop and another 50 with the swirling dye in the water. Most of the shots were back-lit, but the stop-cock shot was front lit with on-axis lighting.

The shots were:

1. The funnel with the spreading pattern of blue;

2. The "solid" blue overlaid over the swirling blue;

3. The stopper on top;

4. The stop-cock;

5. The coloured water in the tube; and

6. The falling drops of coloured water.

Lots more PP work including removing the support ring and rod holding everything in place.
