There be dragons
Went to a favourite location (RSPB at Loch Leven) at the weekend to see if there were any migratory geese there yet, but the only things with wings around the place were some dragon flies.
There were lots of seed pods that showed promise for some fun processing though

Re: There be dragons
Very nice, Bill. If I were younger then I would probably try my hand at macro. Your saying that they were the only things with wings, astounds me, though. I spent the first 21 years of my life in Scotland and would have thought that midges would be prevalent, plus being a pain, at Loch Leven.

Re: There be dragons
Thanks Jim.
They've never been a problem at Loch Leven, even in peak midge season and the late September weather has dealt with any that were left .
Not sure about the macro comment though - it's ideal for us oldies as you don't need to walk for miles and indeed can even do it from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a decent lens, a wee flower or deceased beastie, and off you go. (Of course like everything else in photography if you get a taste for it you will need a better lens, some sort of tethering/stacking software, some specialist lighting gear, a different focal length "better lens" and on and on and on ...).
