    More native bees

    These are what I was hunting unsuccessfully yesterday. much larger than the one I posted then, but much smaller than a honeybee. This one I think I can identify: Augochlorini. It's another tribe of the family that includes the tiny bee I posted yesterday, Halictadae. The identifying feature is the v-shape of the inner margin of the compound eye, which you can see in the second shot.

    I like the iridescence of these bugs. Shot one long ago to test the spectral capabilities of my Sigma Foveon camera and someone here identified the critter for me, IIRC.
