got several more captures today of Augochlorini, one of the most beautiful native bees I've seen in my area. These are quite small, I'd guess 2 x 7 mm, and solitary, so you get very few in a crowd of honeybees and bumblebees. I found only one today. Given the size and windy conditions, it was very hard to achieve focus, but I think these are better than the ones I posted earlier.
As usual, 100mm macro with 36mm extension tube on an APS-C camera (the original 7D).

Looks good. Bees (and solitary wasps) are so difficult to photograph. I always get a lot of rejects with them.

Indeed. Today I was very lucky— about 12 rejects per keeper. Usually it’s 2 or 3 times that.
