    February 2022 Exhibition - Part 1

I have not been all that active here over the past month or so because of a very busy photographic schedule.

I'm part of a group of 6 photographers who will be having a print show early next year. We are working with a curator to get our work ready. At this point, I know which three prints I will be showing and I just finished spending some time with the show curator reviewing my progress. I should be ready to print early in 2022.

While it is not done yet, the first cut of one of the prints is finally done and I will be moving onto preparing the next two over the next week or two. I will be showing some images I took in Julaca, Bolivia (population 60) a couple of years ago.I'm still looking at size (likely too large to print at home). This shot shows a construction project; I have no idea what the structure is.

My questions are: Is this one of the three images you have chosen, and if so, why did you choose this image for the subject of a large print exhibition?

Manfred, I like the image. Is there any way to find out what it is? Was construction halted? I tried doing a google earth search of the area, but the resolution is poor. It's a Mystery.

No, construction seems to be paused, rather than halted. Rainy season had just ended a few days earlier and I suspect construction was going to start again shortly. There is a dumpster for garbage sitting on top of the nearest tower, which suggests work in ongoing. All that bare rebar suggests more work needs to be doen.

There are 6 photographers showing at this exhibition; I know two others quite well (I have known them for a number of years), one I have heard of by reputation (she was a well known, award winning journalist with a national reputation), the fifth person is someone whose work I had seen before and the sixth person I did not know at all.

Each of us had to present a concept ant three images to the curator and to the rest of the group and we jointly worked out which images would have a common theme that would give us an integrated show. That's how the selection was made.

This is a contemporary photographic exhibition, so the types of works that are shown fit into that genre, rather than the type of work I normally do, which is really quite traditional photography.
