Re: Printing Black
You are lucky; I tried to enrol on a level 3 course at my local college; level three is about 'o' level standard and after the tutor saw my prints which look ok to me he suggested I start at level 1. I'm a bit fed up with being insulted; 'o' levels are for 11 year olds and that is about as basic as I am willing to go, and this course once passed is a step onto the foundation course for a degree in photography, but a hundred years ago I was a postgraduate and on a postdoctoral course.
So I'm not doing that then, and unfortunately there isn't any other courses around here.
Wish you more luck with your course Raylee.

Re: Printing Black
Hi Steve
I enquired about an intermediate level course and I was asked how much I understood about resolution v compression. I said not much so it was suggested I start with Camera Skills 1. I hope I won't be too bored but this course is relatively inexpensive so I'm prepared to start with it. I enquired at another photography school about doing a portraiture class and I was asked what setting do you use on the camera? I said aperture priority a lot and it was suggested that I needed to do the basic class to learn how to use manual. I was put off by that attitude but have since been using the manual setting. Mind you, the introductory course at this place was twice the price of the one I've enrolled in. I hope the course I've enrolled in will be a good springboard to creativity.
