What does the ICC mean by "exchange"?
I've been reading about scene-referred images versus output-referred images. I am aware of the difference between those two types.
Here, it says:
"While the greatest flexibility for subsequent processing comes from exchanging camera raw files, there are workflows where the exchange of scene-referred images is desirable."
However, I am unclear as to exactly what gets exchanged with what, or with whom.
Can anyone help?
TIA.

Re: What does the ICC mean by "exchange"?
Ted I think they are using the term "exchange" to mean "share" or "distribute to a third party". The digital movie industry uses a file format called .DPX which is called an exchange format and is used to send a movie out to a third party for further editing, color grading and special effects.
