When we look at pictures we all see something different. When I look at this image I see my friend that I have known since I was 13 years old that's 58 years.
I have only straightened the image. Comments Welcomed.

Nice story. I'd say it's a bit dark and that detracts because I can't really see his eyes. Also, a bit too much clutter.

Thanks, Sharon, for your comment. I will try processing it in a couple of days. There is a lot of clutter, but that's the eviorment. I like to think it contributes to the story.

+1 to what Sharon has written. There are too many distractions in this image for it to be effective. Open up the shadows and take down the highlights, especially the window at the top left and you will have made a good start. Much of the top part of the image is not contributing to the image and can be cropped out.

That bright white shirt and the shoes are not working all that well either.

I see an un-posed snap of a guy who is looking pretty good at 58. For such a shot, I would say that comments re: photographic composition, lighting, settings, focus, etc. are unhelpful.

Funny, I worry about all of those issues when I do snaps. Why would one not do so? Just because it is a snap, that doesn't mean the final product has to look "bad". A poorly focused. poorly exposed, poorly lit snap gets deleted.

Wow, Manfred, that's pretty blunt but so true. Much appreciated. I have to start being on guard to the emotional attachments that have lately gotten a hold on me.

    Ted, My friend is 75.

Daniel - Sorry that I wasn’t more clear. I was referring to how I handle my own snaps and family shots.

I generally try to take several shots when I can, so I often have a reasonable one in the group.

Oops, first I added 13 and 58 but he didn't look that old. Looks even better at 75!
