I initially did this image as a B&W for a photo competition, but I found that the rust was too well hidden and some of the effect was lost, so I decided to rework it in colour to see how it would turn out. I had original felt that colour was the right choice and now that I see it in that genre, I feel that my original view was probably the right one.

This engine was abandoned at the edge of the Uyuni Salt Flat in Bolivia about 80 years ago.

I replaced my 6+ year old Wacom Intuos Pro table with a 16" Huion pen display and this was my first retouch using the new tool. There is a learning curve but it is quite short when compared to learning to use a tablet rather an mouse.
