Fine Art Nude - Randi Rouge
I have worked with Randi a number of times in the past and I've always found her creative ideas worth exploring. In this shot (which was taken several years ago), we used a chair, a mask and a bowler hat as props. I shot her against black seamless paper.
One reason I am posting this image now is that we have had a number of discussions on dark and / or low-key images. I've also decided to post the ACR view of the image; I have crushed the shadow detail ever so slightly in one place. The blue on the chair back is where this can be seen.
Some might wonder why I did not remove the small pox vaccination mark on her arm. Unless specifically asked to, I generally do not remove scars or other permanent marks.

Re: Fine Art Nude - Randi Rouge
But it makes no difference at all. Reading your photo into Photoshop, I get an L value of 1 in most of the black area. That is indistinguishable from a crushed black (0) even on a screen, and when printing, no papers allow one to differentiate those two levels.
I crushed the blacks in a large part of your background. One of the photos below is yours, and one is the one with crushed blacks. No cheating: don't use the computer to read the luminance values. Can anyone see a difference? I can't. IMHO, you have done exactly what I often do--create a background that will be perceived as pure black--while maintaining a tiny difference in luminance that no one can see.
