    Not quite Swan Lake

This image was taken by holding the camera below the knees as I did not have the time to kneel.

I was hoping something would evolve as there were a few people around and this gentleman provided a bit of entertainment. The swans were not too perturbed. C&C most welcome.

Is this a crop from a larger image? If so, it is a fraction tight on the frame edges so I would consider cropping very slightly wider. Otherwise, it looks good to me.

I would have liked it to be wider but impediments, right hand corner was too much. Grrrrr!

Yes that is often the way with quick grab shots of real life situations. Just click on what is available and hope for the best.

Interesting candid shot. Leads me to ask a few questions, was he trying to scare the swan, did they scare him, why is one tagged with a number?

Thank you Sharon. I think the man was so exited.

The swans are looked after by the local government in some way, hence the tag.

The area I took the photo is near a small marina and there are lots of lawns there too. The swans and their three chicks were just wandering about and people just had to move aside. Quite regal they were.

Very cool! And yeah, those swans are pretty regal. Back in S Oregon, wild turkeys were all the rage. They were everywhere, and strutted in groups down the streets wo a care in the world as to who might be waiting to go past them. In fact, if one was not careful, they would start attacking the car (as they would see their reflection). Very smart birds. ;-)

On a bike ride back when living in the hills of Oakland, CA I remember them chasing me down the street when I was on my road bike... those things were fast and they wanted to nail me!!

Terrific street photography and the expression captured on the man is outstanding.
