    Here's another try. Another image of the same fungi. The lighting is more even, and I used less aggressive postprocessing.

    Nicely done Dan. The colours, shapes and textures are almost "agate" like in appearance.

    Another impressive image, Dan.

    On balance, I prefer the the composition, colours, and slightly more abstract nature of the previous example.

    Thanks. This is an interesting experiment. On the one hand, the clutter makes it very hard to create compositions. On the other hand, they stay put, so one can go back as often as one wants to try again.

    I like that one better. We have similar fungi here but all a boring beige with no coloration and not that much contrast either.
