    Monitor Size Compatibility

I'm looking at changing my monitor from a 23" to a 28" and having a 'confused moment' as to whether my graphics card can support this. I need this not so much for my PP work but some CAD work I'm doing at present. Unfortunately the AOC or a 27" HP at half the price are the only options in the country and B&H will not send monitors here.

    Present monitor is a 23" AOC with resolution 1920 x 1080

Possible new AOC 28" monitor resolution is 3XXX x 2XXX

    Graphics card is a Nvidia P620 https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/e...-nv-r3-web.pdf

    In the spec it refers to 4 x (outputs) 4096 x 2160

Going through the display settings for Windows and the GPU the max sizes (res) in the listings is 1920 x 1080. I'm assuming this is due to that being the size of my monitor presently connected, am I correct?

That is indeed correct. You have a workstation card, which is going to handle a lot of things better than the average graphics cards that are aimed at casual users or gamers. Your card looks like it can handle up to 5K cards, according to the spec.

I just added a 16" Huion 3840 x 2160 display tablet. so I effectively am running one 1680 x 1050 and one 2560 x 1440 display as well (3 displays in total). The specs on my Radeon Pro wx 5100 are somewhat similar to the graphics card you are running and it has no issue with the higher resolution display I added a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you Manfred, I'm off out now to purchase it.

As for the graphics card it came with an HP PC that I was lucky enough to find here last year. Having spent ages looking for something new and with min 16gb ram the local computer store suddenly had two machines that were special order but no longer wanted.

Yes, your graphics card supports this resolution, but only at 60Hz.

The only time faster refresh rates are important is if you are gaming. For photographic work, that is plenty fast enough as the material is static. Feature films run at 24 frames per second (fps) i.e. 24 Hz and HD video is generally shot at a maximum frame rate of 60 fps.

All the screens I use refresh at 60 Hz.

That refresh rate is fine for me, no gaming just photo work and You Tube instruction videos.
