Hi Raymond.

As no one has answered your post I will have a go.

Your problem here is that the reflection in the water is very distracting. It does not make for a harmonious image.

The colours themselves are quite nice but could do with a little bit of a boost in PP.

A polarising filter may have reduced the reflections, or just take the picture from an angle that negates the reflections.

The b+w version does nothing for me either, sorry.

Just to add to Peter's comment - the colour version is much stronger, in my view. With the B&W the tones all run together and the separation of the leaves is not particularly strong. Add the colour contrast in the colour version any that issue goes away.

In my experience, there are some images that work better in colour while others work better in B&W. This is one of the cases where colour is important as an element in the image.

Another option (which might not have worked in this case) is to move around until the reflection is interesting.

I felt that the reflection could be lessened by reducing the global blue content; Then the global saturation by reducing the Lab Chroma; Then a crop to increase the relative size of the pool; Then an increase of global contrast to more separate the leaves from the water.

I'm thinking that the saturation might have been increased quite a bit in the OP ...
