Making a photo book

Hello friends and fellow photographers

I was going through the "book" module of Lr and I am wondering whether there is any way to design small pdf books comprising of both the photos and maybe a short write-up about each photo. Also, whether it is possible to spread some of the photos over two facing pages.
I am not sure whether the above is possible to be done in Lr "Book" module. If yes, please let me know the method. Otherwise, could members here please suggest some other software which can be used for the said purpose?

I cant advise on LR for book publishing but I can recommend Corel as a fine publishing and design software suite. I've been using Corel since 1995 updating to new versions a few times on the way. My life would be very difficult without it !
