Very nice portrait, Richard! I like that the f1.8 aperture allows the model's face and head to be in-focus while imparting a softness to the rest of the frame.

I would like a bit more space above the girl's head and maybe change the colour of the girl's right dress strap to match her left dress strap.

These are just my observations of a lovely image.
    Cheers Ole

Thanks! I also think that she is lovely. She is also a active duty U.S. Marine!

    Re: Portrait

I prefer that version, with more space at the top and slightly reduced highlights.

I agree with Geoff. The first image is a bit cramped. This one is vastly better. And yes! she is lovely.

    Re: Portrait

I don't often comment on portraits, Richard, because it is an area I don't feel confident about. Nevertheless, I do like both images a lot. I agree with Ole about more space on the top for the first. Overall, I prefer the second quite a bit more, because of the challenging look which gives drama and her positioning.
