    Teal and cattle

I recently completed a long-overdue cull of an over-sized catalog and found a few images that had escaped my attention earlier, including these two.

    Teal:

    Teal and cattle

    Highland cattle:

    Teal and cattle

C&C welcome of course, but perhaps overlook the fact that the cull reduced the size of the catalog from approz 16,500 to 4,500 .

I like them both, Bill, perhaps favoring the cattle.

I can't imagine culling approx. 16,500 shots down to 4,500! Take you long?

    Thanks Ted.

I did it in handy bite-sized chunks spread out over a couple of weeks.

Very cool-looking cow. (Is it a type of cow?) I don't think I have ever seen one like that before. Then again, I'm the guy at the petting zoo pointing at a goat and asking what kind of dog is that? My wife is used to it.

The duck is 100 percent adorable. I like the markings under and around its wing. It looks like a fingerprint, perhaps left by its maker. Nicely done, Bill

As Peter said, the breed is actually called "Highland", see:

Cattle is my favorite. The first urge is to cuddle them.

Good composition for both. The Teal shot looks a bit flat and needs a bit more contrast and maybe a slight vignette for added depth to make it pop more. Those Teal aren't easy to get a good shot of since they're small and swim fast and are wary little critters.

Thanks Daniel. The cow is a native Scottish breed

    Re: Teal and cattle

Thanks Brian. Good suggestion on using a slight vignette but I'm happy with the somewhat painterly effect of the image as posted (there's merit in your suggestion, but it's not what I want to achieve here).
