David, a lovely image. I want to step in and sample a local wine too!
I spend a lot of time in Ireland and when I first saw this image I thought I was looking at one of the 'older' bars still to be found hidden away in many of the small towns in Cavan. Typically French and typically Irish!
To further add to the nostalgia kick, I noted the name 'St Silain' which brings to mind me of a local (trout) lake 'Sillan' at nearby Cootehill and a 'local' celtic saint ... St Sillan/Silian.
I checked the name of your bar and they are two entirely different 'saints'!
Still it might be a good excuse to hop a ferry to La Rochelle and wander around with a lens or two later this year
