    Looking for a challenge

    CC welcomed.
I captured this fella in the Badlands of SD.
I processed in LR, however I used masks to enhance his eyes; maybe too much, IDK.
    Thanks in advance

The eyes look fine. However the overall contrast (especially the head and dark front) is a little bit too low for my liking. Easily corrected using either contrast or curves or black point or possibly even dehaze adjustment.

I see what you mean. He was kicking up dirt and created a cloud of dust.
    I'll work on it more.
    Thanks

It is an interesting image, but the light is very challenging, as you appear to have discovered.

The background of the background and back parts of the bison are fairly bright, but the face is in shadow. Getting the face to show well is going to be very challenging. I expect that is why you concentrated on the eyes?
