Ceiling - Grand Hall - Canadian Museum of History

Ceiling - Grand Hall, Canadian Museum of History - Here we see the work of two First Nations artists; the ceiling fresco by Alex Javier and the building, which is the work of architect Douglas Cardinal.

The museum is located in Gatineau, Quebec, across the river from Ottawa.

That looks like a challenging composition Manfred. I love the ceiling artwork, very colourful. I would have liked to see all of the arc at the lower edge of the composition, though that may not have been possible.
Also I would be inclined to clone out the dark triangle at the top right of the image

Thanks for the comment, Peter. I definitely don't want to clone out that area as I want to preserve both the architecture and the fresco. I did go back and dodged that part or the image to see what difference that make

I also have a slightly wider version that show the whole fresco.

FWIW, I prefer the wider viewpoint. It appears to me to be less abstract and better illustrates both the structural detail and the artwork. Wonderful image!

    I also agree with Martin.

I take your point about wanting to preserve the architecture, but I find the black in the upper right a distraction. it draws my eye away from where I think it belongs.

Thanks everyone; the second version it is then. This is part of my work that I am preparing for archival prints, so I will hopefully work on that once Easter is over.
