It appears to be some bits of twine sitting on a dark background. Am I missing something, but sorry, I just don't quite get this shot...

Interesting. I only see one bit with a knot at each end ...

... could it be a new art-form, like kind of photography veritas ... everyday objects shown as they are without pretension of grandeur?

It's one continuous section of twine knotted at each end. The kind of thing no one looks at or pays attention to until it's needed. Even then, the time spent looking at it is brief, only long enough to see if it is the right length for its intended use.

I photographed it so one can look at it more closely. Perhaps even for the first time. The lowly twine has been a part of human life since the earliest times. It's about noticing those things that go unnoticed and then looking at them more deeply.

I realize no explanation can make what one finds unpalatable, to be palatable but I hope my explanation will provide some insight as to how I see it.

Thank you Manfred for your comment. Aways appreciated.

Hi, Ted. Calling it a new art form might be pushing it a bit, but I don't mind, lol. It does seem to fit in with photography veritas as you described it.

I photographed it on my black slate dining room table with light coming through the window.

    Thanks for looking and commenting.
