    I photographed a machinist's layout protractor yesterday and used it to build the butterfly's wings.

    That's quite impressive Manfred, simple but at the same time a complex creation. I can see the nut within the ring spanner jaw, but what are the circular items inside the two nut further along the body, sealed bearings maybe?

    Thanks Peter - they are the same nuts you are looking at, just reduced in size. The structure was too open and airy for the impact I wanted the body to have, so I filled in the holes to make them more solid-looking.
