    Cruets 2

More cruets with glass hemispheres. This time I filled the vinegar compartments with a mix of food colouring and water to see how that would turn out; from left to right I used green, yellow and blue colours.

Very mixed feelings on this one Manfred. It's a clear testament to your imagination and technical skills but, for my taste, it is too fussy and a reminder that often "less is more".

Thanks Bill - I'm really exploring the properties of these containers inside containers to figure out how to best incorporate them into images. They are fairly complex physically and optically. I suspect that in the end, I might use a single cruet in an image and support them with other glassware.

This is an earlier shot where i did not include the glass hemispheres and shot the cruets while the food colouring was being distributed through the water. I suspect I will use a much lighter touch with the colours in my next test.

The complexity is still there but the edge definition on the blue side is much better (not so great on the greeen side though).

Technically excellent, but it doesn't really work for me.

My first question is often: where should the viewer's eye go? The second seemed a bit better in this respect because the changed lighting draws the eye to the glass in the center. however, that's fighting with the intense color bright color of the left-hand edge.
