    Detail At Eastern State Penitentiary

In the vastness of abandonment and decay, I was on the lookout for gems contained within.
    C and C welcomed.

Great subject matter, Tyler, but less than optimum composition, in my opinion. I would make either of the two embellishments the sole subject.

Alternatively, I would consider shooting a bit wider to show all of the top left corner detail and with the bottom right corner not looking quite so tight at the bottom edge.

OK- can't do anything about the tightness on low-right, but here is a crop.

    Hi Tyler,

I think the cropped version works better, but I would have rotated clockwise to get the now even more obvious uprights vertical. However I appreciate this doesn't aid with the issue of tightness lower right corner.

When I have similarly challenged myself, I have occasionally resorted to PS filling blank areas of added canvas when I have rotated, but that may not be the direction you wish to take post processing.

    Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave. I tried the rotation, but the low right gets even tighter, or crops the handle. SO that was a no-go for me.
And you are correct, my philosophy is to not add (or subtract) from what is/was present.
