A Liriodendron leaf - quite an unusual tree in France, though we do have one or two by the lake in our town. Lovely colour.

They are common in Rays’s area, where I lived years ago. They are usually called tulip poplars there, or less often, tulip trees. We have virtually none of them in New England. Very attractive trees, but their wood is fairly soft, and the they can drop limbs.
