I'd love to visit Kashmir! Not only for its beauty and interesting people, which you have illustrated so nicely but, because of its history.
I have just finished a book, much of which takes place in Kashmir, "India's Wars", by Arjun Subramaniam, a retired Indian Air Force senior officer; which is a history of Indian military actions between 1947 and 1971. Much of this fighting took place in Kashmir. Having a map of the area was very handy, since I actually listened to this book on Audible.
I'd like to find a book now from the Pakistani point of view and another possibly from the Indian Army viewpoint...
That's quite a sight ! No means of judging the scale in the image - how big is it ?
Fascinating Manfred.
Is there still some water flowing over (or under) the ice, or does it find another way into the stream below?
Philip
