    Two shikara on Dal Lake

This is a shot taken during early Golden Hour on Dal Lake, in Srinagar, Kashmir, India. While I like this image, I have struggled to get it to look reasonably good. While the foreground and middle ground are working well, the buildings and infrastructure in the background are a bit more distracting than I would like.

Nice image, apart, as you say for the distracting background.
I would think that sky detect/replace in PS could be persuaded to select it from among the reeds and then you would have lots of options.

The sky replacement routines in Photoshop are fooled by the reeds and the sky pokes through the reeds (I have tried that). On the other hand, this is what the background looked like - mountains with buildings and electrical pylons.

I really like this image a lot more when blown up to a larger size. In a smaller size, the background seems to intrude but at a larger size it compliments the image. It is another example of an image that, IMO, would look great in a metal print at about 24x36 inches hanging behind a couch on the wall - if the color of the wall and surroundings were appropriate,
