Snow Drfits + Fence - Gulmarg, Kashmir
The temperatures and snow in Gulmarg reminded me of home, but the lack of oxygen did not. Gurmarg (the village) is at 2650 m / 8,690 ft and we got to places that were over 3050 m / 10,000 ft. Anything above 2400 m / 8,000 ft is considered to be "at altitude" and most people will start noticing the effects of altitude sickness. Ottawa, Canada has a altitude of 70m / 230 ft.

Too high for me. I felt the effects at 2000m when skiing in the Alps. Remind me - this trip is for pleasure isnt it ?
My bit of Haute Vienne is very hilly, varies between 250m and 450m altitude - no problem for rising sea levels.
Great photo by the way.
