    Time waits for no one.

I'm trying to learn to capture better portraits. So, I sat on front of the window, bounced one flash off the ceiling & a slave along side of me. I popped off several frames at different shutters and F-stops. To my disbelief, I found an old man before me in the monitor!! What happened? Time waits for no one....

I know the feeling. For at least 10 years now when I look into the mirror I just see my father staring back out at me !

The portrait I feel could do with a little more exposure on the left hand side and under the chin.

Nice portrait and enjoyed the (rather too familiar) story.

Years ago, I was in a deli on Manhattan's upper west side when an old lady walked in pushing a shopping cart. Out of nowhere, she says, "When I was in my 70s, I thought I was old, but now I look back and realize I was actually young." How old are you someone asked. 96, she replied. That always stuck with me.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective. Old age is a gift denied to many I read somewhere.

I have the same problem. Someone must have slipped an "Old Man Filter" on my lens.

On this specific portrait, I would try to brighten the eye areas a bit - perhaps by dodging. There is information within the shaadows behind the glasses.
