    Other than a photo of a lizard I don't really find anything compelling about it. If he had half an insect in his mouth it might have added something to the image

    'compelling' is an interesting word in relation to this image.

    I do find it compelling and if I were in Italy and spotted it in the wall I would have definitely tried for a capture.

    I agree that if it had an insect in its mouth that might have added further interest, but since I could never see this lizard in the UK I would have been quite excited at any good capture.
    I also quite like the background contrasts in the crack which provide (for me) additional drama.

    Thanks James. For what it's worth, I think this is a "better" photograph but posted the other as it shows the lizard in its habitat.
