I really like this image. Beautiful reflection in the water and the quite muted colours did it for me.
    Cheers Ole

Overall a strong image from a technical and impact standpoint. I'm not sure if you need all the space on the right hand side of the image, but that is more my personal taste than anything else.

Thank you Ole, Andre and Manfred. I had wondered about cropping it at the right just where the green reflection fades but ended up feeling the symmetry of shades with the green in the centre was better.

A very nice image. Worth printing and hanging, IMHO. However, I do agree with Manfred. I would crop a little from the right. Not much. Maybe just enough to eliminate half or 2/3 of the dark band on the right hand edge. Either way, a keeper.

The subject's pose doesn't work for me. It would have been much better if he had his head up and was looking straight ahead or off to the right. I can't figure out what he is doing.
I would consider matching up the area on the right with the rest of the background for uniformity.

Thanks for your comments. I'll certainly take a look at different crops and see how it goes. I think that the pose is more in keeping with "Solitude" - you don't know what he is doing and whatever it is has all his attention.

Wonderful image. I wish it could have been a little bigger, so I could see it better.

Thaks to all for your input.

Here is the print-ready version; main changes are I have dodged his face around the nose and eyes a little, and taken a small slice off the right edge and a smaller one off the top. All I have to do is decide on the paper. Currently I've tried it on Hahnemuhle German Etching and Pinnacle Gloss 300, and waiting for a delivery of Pinnacle Premium Textured Rag.

Manfred, I (vaguely) recall that you and Donald shared the results of printing here some time back, and I'm thinking about showing the results of "Solitude" on the 3 different papers mentioned above, just out of interest for those few who prefer print to DPI. How did you do it - did you scan or photogaph?

Thanks for the comment. Printed on A3 Pinnacle Premium Textured Rag 310, an art paper with a slight texture.
