    Smoked Glass

    Continuing on idea I played around with last October, I brought out my smoke machine and added some to my glass and water scenes.

    Smoke works very well when back-lit and that is how I light the glassware...

    Part of the inspiration was the heavy smoke from the forest fires that are burning in Northern Quebec drifting down into this area. The medical advice was to stay indoors with windows shut, so I had to find something to keep me busy. The subject seems rather fitting with the times.

    I found that on reflection, this one is "too pretty", so I spent some time in post, reworking it to be more consistent with the "moody" direction I am heading in.

    Yes, I like this. The smoke gives it a sort of apocalyptic feel.

    It's quite gritty and it works for me. Yep, better than the first image in my opinion.
