Is that a misprint on the last image title?

The subject is a Eupeodes hoverfly. Probably E. corollae male.

How are you finding the hoverfly numbers this year? All hoverfly species have been scarce for me, even the very common stuff like the Eristalis family have been hard to find; including at the usually more productive sites.

Thanks Geoff. No, not a misprint, just a case of mistaken identity - it's been a while since I encountered hovers in any numbers and my memory was a bit rusty. The ones here (and many others) were in the gardens of Peckforton Castle in Cheshire.
