Kitchen Chemistry + Glassware
I spent some time in the kitchen experimenting with basil seeds that have been soaked in water and Xanthan gum (a thickening agent) to keep the expanded basil seeds from sinking to the bottom. I cheated here and only show the commercial basil seed drink. I ended up not using my homemade stuff (I used blue food colouring), but the two look quite similar.
The idea is interesting and I suspect it has potential, but I haven't quite figured out how to turn this into a high-impact image yet.

Re: Kitchen Chemistry + Glassware
Some experiments with my homemade mixture using Xanthan gum as thickener. It's less translucent than the commercial drink which uses Gellan gum as thickener. From what I've read, it takes a lot less thickener, so that may explain the difference in translucence and clarity.
I've ordered a small amount to try out and will continue my experiments when it arrives.
I like this particular arrangement and lighting.

I do like this. The background is neutral, giving more attention to the glasses and the nice looking green.
Cheers Ole
