Is the butterfly or the flower the main subject? If it is the butterfly, I would crop closer and lose some of the ragged edges and out of focus parts of the flower.

Geoff, thanks for the comment. I'm not trying to be cute with you, but I consider the subject a butterfly on a flower. Feel free to tell me where I'm mistaken.

I, for one, did not notice the butterfly but only the flower. I do like the flower and that could very well be the main subject.

I've done some 'insect A on flower B' photos, and I think that's a fine subject, but I still think something needs to be primary. I'd crop it if it were mine. As an example, here's an old one of mine that was titled "Agapostemon on echinacea"

mugge, I was the type of kid that was more focused on the cherry on top of the cake than the cake itself. I guess I am still the same.

Dank, nice image. I have images similar to the one you posted. In the example of the image I posted what captured me when I looked at it in the field was the silvery buttfly's contrast with the flower. Anyway, that is what I wanted to express.
