I like the pier, the wave and the person but not the sky ...I'm not even sure it's needed, cropping just below the black edge of the large works better for me.

Like it. The person in the foreground lends scale to the pier.

I've merged the two threads, as the images appear to be identical.

I agree with Bill's comment. While the sky is interesting, it competes too much with the pier and the lower parts of the image. A strong crop, removing about 3/4 of the sky would likely give you a stronger compositiion.

As an alternative; how about cropping just above the large cloud and a similar amount from the right side ?

There are several dust spots near the top edge about half way along.

Nice capture. I agree about cropping the sky, although not as severely as Manfred suggested. I would also add contrast to the areas below the sky and dodge a bit, to bring out the diagonal lines. This is just a few steps and isn't a complete edit, but it shows the directions.
