    From a miserable day out ...

    ... Haven't posted here for a bit and indeed haven't taken any photos either. Thursday of last week started off blue skies and sunshine so set off for one of my favourite haunts, RSPB Loch Leven. Got there in time for lunch, then picked up the bag and set off but the sunshine set off too. Here are a couple from the day.

    Spider on Hide window: Ducked into the hide to escape the wind and rain and spotted this:

    That looks like a Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) they often spin webs in hide windows.

    A nice lot of Teal there. I have been intending to try a few winter bird photos but have been put of by the poor light. Last week I got as far as loading my kit into a backpack but as I left the house I could see some approaching rain clouds; so I never got further than the bottom of my garden.

    Thanks for the spider ID Geoff, much appreciated. I keep telling that myself the soft light that comes with the weather at this time of year should be welcomed .....
