    Winter fruit

These are called Kakis here, persimmons elsewhere I think. They are from my garden.

    David,

I greatly appreciate your image, especially the grazing light that seems to emanate from a single source.
It's a beautiful still life that would complement any dining room.
Thank you for sharing this work!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Hello David, I think it is a very well-taken photo, but it is one-sided. To much space in the left corner for my visual acceptance. For me, it affects the balance. Perhaps it works well, but that's how I view it.

I can see your point and there is a version of the same file cropped 3/2 (this is 16/9). I've also other versions of this shot that are more centred. What about this one, seen from the left and from a higher viewpoint.

Your image set design and lighting appear to have been influenced by the Dutch Golden Age still life masters.

I've been staring at this image for a day or so and while the set is well constructed, lit and photographed, I find that the dark table cloth and background swallow up too much light. While that adds a lot of drama, There seems to be too much competition between the subject and the blacks and that leads to visual imbalance.

I like this viewpoint. It shows the curvature of the plate, bringing it more in harmony with the overall circular shapes of the image.
