New Still Life Photograph
I was working on another smokey "nebula" idea, but could not get the image to work with the smoke, but is seems to work nicely as a standalone photograph. Back-lit glassware again.

Re: New Still Life Photograph
I like that one. It has an almost Escher effect.

Not a great fan of this one I'm afraid.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few that you rejected with smoke. Just curious why it didn't work. Will you try to smoke it again?

Re: New Still Life Photograph
The reason this one wasn't working is that I did not like that dark area at the bottom of the piece of glass that was holding everything. I was trying to get that whole area to look even. The height of the translucent Plexiglas that I was using as a diffuser cast that white area, and I would need a much taller piece than I have to get that effect.
Right now I am working on a project that I will be showing in a gallery between April 19 and May 19, 2024. I am looking at a 9 x 9 "German quad" (look up the way that Berndt & Hilla Becher displayed their works) made up of 16" x 20" prints. Right now I have 6 images that are good enough, another 5 that I might be able to use and one that has already been shown, so is ineligible for the show.

I'm not sure I'd hang this in my house, but I'm intrigued by this. The light play and lines, I just got a crystal sphere and saw a set similar to what your showing here. I can't do it now but when I start working through the light science and magic book later in the year. I just looked at your website, very interesting project you working on. I look forward to seeing more
