    The Garment Worker

The statue is located in NYC's garment district. The original was typical and not very interesting; heavy processing made it more appealing to me.

I also like how it turned out. It would be interesting to see the original for comparison.

Has some resonance for me: my father-in-law worked in the NYC garment factories for years, often doing double shifts.

The mention of your father-in-law's work in the garment district sparked a forgotten memory within me. Back in the late '60s, I found myself in the midst of that bustling industry, navigating the sidewalks with clothing racks in tow. Occasionally, I'd trade the racks for a hand truck loaded with boxes, but it was all in a day's work as a temporary laborer. It's funny how a simple mention can resurrect such vivid recollections. I'll be looking for the original image to post. Thank you for commenting, Dan.

I do like the heavy handed way you did this photo. I guess the bronze figure made the choice easy.

Well, Ole. I intended to change the background without preconceived ideas about the end result. I basically stumbled my way through the process to its conclusion.

I like the direction that you took for this picture but I find the floating table and the worker squatting in mid air distracting. Have you considered pulling the table legs and the seat out of the background?

Hello, Andre. I don't see it squatting in mid-air. Below is a larger version.

I like it better with the feet included in the picture. I still think that including the table support would improve it even more. The important thing to remember is that this is your work of art and it should reflect your vision; not mine.
